Day of workers of the court
December 15, Monday
History and foundation of the holiday
* Court Workers Day was established by the President of Ukraine by Decree No. 1318/2000 on December 8, 2000.
* The holiday was introduced “taking into account the role of courts in ensuring the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, in affirming the principle of the rule of law, and in developing a legal state.”
* Congratulations are addressed to the staff of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, courts of general jurisdiction, arbitration courts, as well as the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
* The date of December 15 was chosen deliberately: on this day in 1917, the General Court was established in the Ukrainian People's Republic — the first highest judicial body.
Significance of the holiday
